A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015.
The kids and I discovered a gorgeous new hike close to home this weekend. Elijah loved riding in the carrier and would yell out, "HIp, hip! Hooray!" every few minutes while we were hiking. As usual, the big kids complained and whined when we first started out, but after a while they settled into a rhythm. They pointed out pretty flowers and stopped to appreciate the views. Ethan spotted a butterfly drinking nectar and we paused to watch. He chattered on about seeing the proboscis all the way back down the trail.
We also spotted a "herd" of butterflies on our way out of the canyon. They were enjoying a dip in the butterfly-sized pond, according to Ethan.
